Addiction Workshop
Addiction workshop would be as an alternative to Alcoholics Anonymous, through teaching ones to claim responsibility for their addictions. This class is an alternative because not only does it teach identifying and working with physical addictions but addictive thought, and addictive emotions as well.
We live in a society that teaches that true joy and happiness are separate from the individual. How many people look at life saying when I have this amount of money, when I have this relationship, when I have this or this or this...then I will be happy. Could this be an addiction?
An addiction is simply looking for power outside of yourself. When ones comes to that realization then they can make choices to put their power where it belongs. To identify the core of ones' addiction, and then releasing it, and last but not least, replacing it with something that truly will benefit the individual.
Workshops will last for two full days four times a year. This workshop is not limited to an age, gender or race. The purpose is to address all addictive thought patterns.

Thank you for a wonderful weekend. Your loving guidance into deeper places was very helpful to me in exploring emotional depths that I hadn't yet been able to safely go to. And it was fun! I came home feeling very peaceful. The humorous recordings and movie clips were perfect demonstrations or the ironies of holding on/letting go breakthroughs. S.D.
Thanks again for an inspirational week end. You did a great job of handling
the problem with the B&B, by the way!! You are a wonderful example of what

Single Parent Workshop
This support group is for single parents who seek assistance from a group of other single parents dealing with similar situations. Areas that will be focused on are: balance, peace, meaningful moments, children, and friendships.
Balance
Balance is imperative in one's life; especially in a single parent's life! A parent cannot maintain his/her life without a balance of obligations and joyful activities. Learn to find balance without carrying the guilt and anger. In so doing, you are teaching your children the importance in a balanced life without dependence on substances or other activities to 'make it through the day'.
Peace
Single parent is not synonymous with stressed out and overworked parent. Single parenthood can provide meaning and allow joy in everyday life. Learn to enjoy your child's childhood and live with joy and peace.
Meaningful Moments
In our busy lives, we misplace the time that should be spent with our children. We rush from work to other obligations. Rush is the new verb in our lives-which leads to a misplacement of priorities. It is not about finding more time, it is about shifting your time. Learn to understand the importance of spending meaningful moments with your children and enjoying it! The children are worth it.
Children
Many parents, let alone single parents, struggle with setting and maintaining boundaries with their children. Learn the difference between punishment and consequences; boundaries and control; acceptance of inappropriate behaviors and unconditional love.
Friendships
Friendships play an important role in our lives; whether the role is through lack of friendships or a strong support system. Learn to honor and nurture your friendships while still enjoying meaningful moments with your children.
- Parent support groups will be offered on a consistent basis fall 2008 and will take place at the Universal Education Foundation in Woodland Park.
- Daycare tuition may be available to assist parents in attending-depending on grant availability
Please contact Tami Urbanek at UniversalEdFound@aol.com to express interest in attending the support group.
Girls' Workshop

Many adolescent girls struggle with engaging in activities that create emotional, and sometimes physical, harm. They engage in these activities to attract acceptance within social circles and/or adolescent boys, anger, confusion, and non-serving personal beliefs.
This workshop is intended to teach empowerment and allowing girls to assist each other in their movement towards self-respect and ownership of their lives.
- Workshops are set up based upon need and request from families and/or individuals.
- Times and days are usually split up into two hour segments once a week for three weeks.
- Cost: $45 total each participant
